ITV GRANADA REPORTS

(2019 General Election - 12th December 2019)

I worked as a political reporter for ITV Granada Reports during the 2019 General Election night, where myself and a fellow University student attended Stockport Town Hall and worked together to film (with an AC90 camera) the counts and declarations for the Stockport, Hazel Grove and Cheadle constituencies, as well as interviewing the winning candidates and providing updates to the news desk through the night.

This is the interview I conducted for ITV Granada Reports with Conservative MP, William Wragg, after he won and retained his seat for the Hazel Grove constituency.

WIGAN WARRIORS TV

(August 2017 - Present)

As part of working part-time for the club, I am the lead commentator for all Wigan Warriors Academy games that are broadcast live on Wigan TV, which is a subscribed online club channel. I have also conduced interviews and created story packages for the TV platform.

Community Foundation: Yoga Festival

The Wigan Warriors Community Foundation work within the local area to help provide fitness and well-being to young people. One of the activities that took place in 2019 was a Yoga Festival at Central Park, where a Year 6 primary school class got involved.

Community Foundation: Classic Cars

The Wigan Warriors Community Foundation provide a Rugby Memories group aimed at the older generation within the local area, with a chance to reminisce about old memories. One of the activities that took place in 2019 was a tour of the 'My Dad Had One Of Those' (MDHOOT) car show in Wigan.

MANCHESTER UNITED TV (MUTV)

(August 2018 - May 2019)

Gaining freelance work experience for Manchester United TV involved floor managing and interviewing at the Under-18s Premier League 2 Division 2 home (at Carrington Training Ground) and away matches, which were broadcast live on the subscribed club channel.

After a 4-5 loss at home to Everton, I interviewed Manchester United Under-18s Manager, Neil Ryan, who shared his disappointment on his side's defensive display.

THE BOLTON NEWS

(1 week - October 2019 - November 2019)

Whilst on a work placement at The Bolton News, I was based on the sports desk as a sports reporter for the newspaper and online website, as well as creating a promotional video for The Buff Podcast.

A new podcast that began in October 2019 - The Buff Podcast - is hosted by The Bolton News' chief football writer, Marc Iles, and freelance broadcaster Tom Malloy.

SALFORD NOW

(October 2018 - December 2019)

Salford Now is the University of Salford's in-house news organisation and as part of BA (Hons) Broadcast Journalism), myself and my fellow colleagues were tasked to find stories, gather content and publish it on different platforms - including Salford Now's TV output, which broadcasts live news bulletins and programmes on YouTube.

Former Soap actor, Tom Atkinson, played killer Lachlan White in Emmerdale between 2014 and 2018. I visited his house in Blackpool to talk to him about his career so far and his plans for the future.
